Mad is the second known virus ever created for the Atari ST computer. It is a boot sector virus, sometimes also called the Fun virus or Emil 2A.
When a disk infected with Mad is booted, the virus becomes memory resident. It copies itself to drives A: or B: whenever they are read or written to. After five infections, the virus makes changes to the contents of the screen and causes the computer to beep.
